WELCOMING ADDRESS
Open University Malaysia (OU Malaysia) is a university committed to being contemporary in character and forward looking. The University employs a variety of approaches in the teaching-learning process, as well as offers academic programmes which cater to the demands of the marketplace. Our holistic curriculum aims at the total development of the individual to provide learners with a competitive edge in the employment market.
We aim to create a conducive environment for the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge and to provide quality higher education for both the individual and professional development. The portfolio of undergraduate programmes are carefully developed. Quality and flexibility are the key words for all our programmes and we focus on the application of knowledge and skills.
With the founding of this University, it is no longer necessary for working adults to travel extensively to and fro campuses to attend classes. We provide our learners freedom to choose where and when and what they want to learn and how they want to go through the programmes. We prepare specially constructed study materials to help them throughout the study period. We recognise that each of our learners is uniquely distinct from one another and for this, we offer a flexible mode of learning via three methods – self-managed learning where learners study independently according to their time availability, on-line learning with direct interaction through the internet, and face-to-face interaction with tutors during tutorial sessions.
Finally, I hope all OU Malaysia learners and prospective learners will find this website useful. I also welcome all our learners to visit us at our new campus situated at Jalan Tun Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.
Warmest regards
Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Hj. Abdullah Sanusi Ahmad
President & Chief Executive
For OU Malaysia.
