The School of Information Technology and Multimedia Communication aims to be a world-class educational incubator which produces cutting edge knowledged workers capable of contributing to the rapid development in the field of Information Technology and Multimedia Communication. Academic Programmes Offered by the School are designed to prepare learners for positions such as Information Technology Managers, System Analysts, Software Engineers, Web Designers, Animation Specialists and Web Broadcasting Journalists.

Diploma in Information Technology is offered by OU Malaysia in order to contribute towards the development of semi-skilled human resources required for the advancement of the IT industry in Malaysia. This programme provides learners with a sound academic foundation and hands-on experience in IT.

Bachelor in Multimedia Communication with Honours is an interdisciplinary programme which combines the various aspects of mass and human communication theories and practices with multimedia technology. This programme has been designed to enable learners to specialise in three areas, mainly Advertising, Animation and Web Broadcasting. It is offered by OU Malaysia to facilitate the provision and allocation of skilled knowledged workers in recognising the dire need to meet the National Policy objectives, particularly in establishing Malaysia as a major global centre and hub for communications and multimedia information and content services.
